British Tenants ‘Can’t Afford’ Further Rent Rises

Landlords across the UK are constantly worried about income levels, especially when it comes to things like the taxation changes seen across the UK in the last 12 months, which affect their financial position in the property market. 

However, while it’s vital that landlords are looking after their own income levels, it’s also absolutely vital that they consider what tenants can afford in order to make sure they are not having to deal with missed rental payments and people moving out, leaving them with costly void periods.

And according to a new study published last week, this is a consideration that is especially important at the moment, with many tenants saying they could not afford their rent if further rent hikes were to come about.
