BUYERS these days aren’t after a walk in the park – it’s a stroll to the supermarket they want.

Forty nine per cent of house-hunters want one within 15 minutes’ walk of a new home, new research shows.

Next most popular amenity is a post office, with 26 per cent wanting it to be within walking distance.

Nick Marr, co-founder of property website thehouseshop.com, which commissioned the survey by YouGov, says: “These results clearly show that despite the rise of online alternatives to the high street, physical local amenities still play a huge part in the ­decision-making process for home hunters.
