There are so many things to worry about when packing up your house to move to a new location. You have to worry about where everything is, whether specific items are going to break on the way over to the new house, and if you will be able to find everything when it comes time to unpack. Moving can be a very stressful task and tends to take more time than you planned. However, if you use some of these ‘Moving House’ tips to help you with your packing, you may be able to relieve a little bit of that extra stress.

Pack Smaller, More Valuable Items First

If you begin packing the larger items in your home first, you will soon find that all your smaller items are scattered all over the floor. It is very hard to sort through everything like that. But if you start off packing the smaller items first, your house will be a lot cleaner once you start packing the larger items. Make sure to pack the most valuable items first as well so you know exactly where they are and don’t have to worry about them.

Label Your Boxes

The most stressful part of ‘Moving House’ is forgetting which box you put what in and not being able to find what you are looking for. Organize your boxes by categories and then label the box to avoid this. If you have to, write down everything that is in each box. This may be a bit time consuming, but it will definitely help you find everything once you arrive at your new house.

Properly Package Breakable Items

Somewhere in your house, there are items that might break on the move to your new house. Anything that is made of glass should be properly packaged by putting them in bubble wrap. This will help avoid breakage while in the moving truck. Also, when you load the truck with your boxes, make sure the fragile boxes are in a secure place so they don’t move around as much.

Don’t Pack Your Junk, Get Rid of It

Moving is the perfect time to get rid of the items you really don’t want to keep. Don’t wait until you get to your new house to deal with your junk, just get rid of it while you’re packing. Only bring items you actually want to keep to the new house. This will help immensely when you begin setting up your house the way you want it.

Packing can be a dreadful thing, but if you remember this ‘Moving House”advice, it can be all that less dreadful.
