He said: \u201cAt present, a \u00a310,000 difference in purchase price can result in a \u00a35,200 difference in the tax bill. Buyers at \u00a3255,000 would pay stamp duty of \u00a37,250 compared to a buyer at \u00a3245,000 who pays just \u00a32,450.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe Scottish Government have stated that the replacement tax will be more proportional and progressive and will create several bands including one \u2018nil rate\u2019 band.
