This rise also take into account increases in stamp duty, estate agency fees and legal fees. The average amount spent on stamp duty and estate agency fees now standing at 2,001 and 3,601 respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;\">In the last decade, the total cost of moving has increased by nearly a quarter, compared to house price rises of almost a third.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;\">The research found that moving in <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/london\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/london;http:\/\/sws.geonames.org\/2643743\/;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.04jpl;http:\/\/yago-knowledge.org\/resource\/London;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/London\" >London<\/a> and the South East is even more expensive, with the average cost now 20,825 and 16,187 respectively. The average home mover in London pays 10,850 in stamp duty and 6,510 in estate agency fees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;\">And, the South East has seen the highest rise in the cost of moving over the last decade, with an 85 per cent increase from 8,773 to 16,187.\u00a0 The most affordable place to move house is in Northern Ireland, where the average cost is 4,253 &#8211; the cost of moving in Northern Ireland has fallen by 15 per cent, mainly as the <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Value (economics)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/value-economics\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/value_economics;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.0bhr4z;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Value_(economics)\" >value<\/a> of many homes has fallen below the stamp duty threshold.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;\">Marc Page, Lloyd&#8217;s Bank mortgages director, said:&#8221;The cost of moving can be an expensive one, and rising <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"House price index\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/house-price-index\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/house_price_index;http:\/\/yago-knowledge.org\/resource\/House_price_index;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.0gn3x3;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/House_price_index\" >house prices<\/a> have had an impact on this with more <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/property\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/property;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.05wrt;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Property\" >property<\/a> sales now within higher stamp duty brackets.
