That&#8217;s the conclusion from a new happiness survey which has revealed that residents of towns including Hull, Harrogate and Preston are the most satisfied with where they live.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The survey also revealed that the <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"leasing\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/lease\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/lease;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.03x_d3f;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Lease\" >lease<\/a> satisfied people all lived in the South East of England. Keep reading to find out more.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Harrogate named happiest place to live<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The survey questioned nearly 50,000 homeowners about how they felt about the safety and neighbourliness of their area. It also asked how proud they felt of their <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/property\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/property;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.05wrt;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Property\" >property<\/a>, along with several other measurements of happiness.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The research revealed that Harrogate, the spa town famous for healing mineral waters, was the happiest place to live in Britain for the second year in a row. Inverness, Stockport and Falkirk also made the top five with Hull and Preston in seventh and eighth place respectively.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Harrogate scored top in the survey for safety, its sense of neighbourliness and recreation. Councillor Michael Newby, Mayor of the Borough of Harrogate, said: &#8220;The district has some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK, if not in Europe and beyond. There is also a great community feel, which certainly makes life a <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Land lot\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/land-lot\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/land_lot;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.0gs32y;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Land_lot\" >lot<\/a> happier for many people.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The survey asked <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Home insurance\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/home-insurance\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/home_insurance;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.0313mp;http:\/\/yago-knowledge.org\/resource\/Home_insurance;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Home_insurance\" >homeowners<\/a> how proud they are of their property, whether they are satisfied with how it is decorated, how safe they feel in their community, whether they have enough living space and how friendly the neighbours are.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div>The 10 places where people reported the lowest levels of satisfaction with where they live were all situated within the capital.
