Beginning in March 2011, they drew up their own <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Plan\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/plan\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/plan;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.018jrr;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Plan\" >plans<\/a>, ordered a trailer and divested themselves of all the non-essentials (resulting in 7 car loads of donations to the Goodwill) before embarking on a 9-month endeavour that culminated in a 140 square foot, trailer-mounted home. Powered with solar panels (and mains electricity on cloudy days), with a propane stove and full plumbing fed via hydrant, The Tacks&#8217; tiny house is fully liveable and mobile. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Prose\" style=\"text-indent: 36.0pt; line-height: 150%;\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Prose\" style=\"text-indent: 36pt;\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"line-height: 150%;\">The Tiny Tack House cost Chris and Malissa in the region of $32,000. Their yearly upkeep, with\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 18px;\">land <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Lease\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/lease\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/lease;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.03x_d3f;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Lease\" >leasing<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 150%;\"><\/span>\u00a0and mains electricity is up to $3965. Projecting forward four years, that&#8217;s $15,260. Altogether, that places them over $10,000 ahead of where they were renting an <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Apartments\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/apartment\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/apartment;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.01nblt;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Apartment\" >apartment<\/a> and on top of that,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 24px;\">they&#8217;re<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 150%;\">\u00a0selling their designs online.
