Whatever the case, it&#8217;s your <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Housing estate\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/housing-estate\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/housing_estate;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.01rtvp;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Housing_estate\" >home<\/a> so who cares what other people think? There are however some obvious pros and cons to a less than average <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/property\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/property;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.05wrt;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Property\" >property<\/a>. And to keep this short and sweet, I&#8217;m going to mention two of each.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">Con number 1: The design<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">You&#8217;ve recently bought a beautiful 19<sup>th<\/sup> century chapel. Lucky you. The views are fantastic and you can almost feel the history coursing through your veins as you walk around your new home. And then the bath arrives. Where do you put it? The plumbing&#8217;s broken in some places and non-existent in others. That&#8217;s okay; you can just knock a few walls down and add some. Except you can&#8217;t because its grade two <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Listed building\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/listed-building\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/listed_building;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.01cq1t;http:\/\/yago-knowledge.org\/resource\/Listed_building;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Listed_building\" >listed<\/a> and you&#8217;re not allowed to change a thing. See where I&#8217;m going with this? Beautiful chapel, rich with history, and you&#8217;ve had to move your <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/bathroom\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/bathroom;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.01j2bj;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Bathroom\" >bathroom<\/a> to the front door because that&#8217;s the only place where you can plumb it in to working pipes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">Con number 2: The tourist attraction<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Tourists-India-Nationalturk-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"none\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"1\" style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">image source: www.nationalturk.com<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">Imagine it. You&#8217;re sitting in your perfect new home on a lazy Sunday morning. The cat\/dog\/parrot is sleeping peacefully; you&#8217;ve got a hot mug of coffee with you, and then the next minute there&#8217;s a bang on the door. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">You open it, and there&#8217;s a group of tourists with cameras around their necks, asking if this <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/building\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/building;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.0cgh4;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Building\" >building<\/a> is open to the public, and if they can take a few photos. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">If you&#8217;re a people person then hey this might be great, but if not then the constant stream of flashing cameras may start to get annoying very quickly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">This has all been rather negative; so lets mention some positives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">Pro number 1: Your house will never be boring. Ever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">Seems obvious, but think of all the people who wake up to see the same square <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Room\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/room\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/room;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.06ht1;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Room\" >rooms<\/a> with the same bog standard windows and walk though the same ordinary layout. You will never be one of those suckers. Even on a miserable grey day, your house will be an extravagant star surrounded by much much less interesting stars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">Pro number 2:\u00a0 The history<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">Now this is dependant on the house, but a <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Land lot\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/land-lot\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/land_lot;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.0gs32y;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Land_lot\" >lot<\/a> unusual homes are unusual because of their age. You could be living in a converted factory, an old mill, or\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/communionarchitects.com\/portfolio-items\/17th-century-barn-conversion-longtown\/\">a 17th Century barn<\/a>. Whatever the look or location, history is something you can&#8217;t buy in a shop, and living in a home where dozens of other families have lived is truly something special.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">So if you love attention, love challenges, and love history, chances are you&#8217;ll love the hundreds of <a href=\"http:\/\/thelittlehousecompany.com\/\">unique and unusual homes<\/a> scattered all around the globe, and maybe you&#8217;ll even end up living in one.
