Flowers, bushes, a pond, gnomes?\u00a0Don&#8217;t\u00a0forget the <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"garden sheds\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/shed\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/shed;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.01n6fd;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Shed\" >shed<\/a>; not only can itbe the perfect place to keep your tools and weedkillers, it can be an area of beauty in its own right with the right architecture. It\u00a0doesn&#8217;t\u00a0even need to\u00a0before\u00a0storage; it can be a place for a spot of tea with a friend or for privacy (there&#8217;s even <a href=\"http:\/\/www.readersheds.co.uk\/share.cfm?shedtype=Pub%20Shed\">sheds used as pubs<\/a>). <i>Amazing Spaces Shed\u00a0of the\u00a0Year<\/i> makes this fact truly apparent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i>Amazing Spaces Shed\u00a0of the\u00a0Year<\/i> is an annual competition to find the most beautiful, unique sheds in the United Kingdom, with this years finalists being shown via a Channel 4 programme hosted by George Clarke. The competing sheds are sorted into different categories; the first episodes looked at finalists in the &#8216;Eco&#8217; and &#8216;Unique&#8217; categories, looking at environmentally-friendly sheds and sheds\u00a0used for\u00a0an interesting purpose, and the second episode looked at Cabins\/SummerHouses and Workshops. There is a &#8216;Normal&#8217; category for sheds with more orthodox purposes, and even a &#8216;Tardis&#8217; category for <i>Doctor Who<\/i><\/span> tributes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The winner of the &#8216;Unique&#8217; category was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.readersheds.co.uk\/share.cfm?SHARESHED=2744\">a shed used as a home cinema<\/a>, complete with big screen, surround sound, and\u00a0movie paraphernalia\u00a0 but just about every shed featured in the programme was unique in some way, showing unlimited dedication and imagination. The second episode,for example, showcased the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.readersheds.co.uk\/share.cfm?SHARESHED=4637\">White Field Lodge<\/a>, which is pretty much Abraham Lincoln meets Red Riding Hood with its architecture and amusing decorations like a yeti and a singing deer head. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.readersheds.co.uk\/share.cfm?SHARESHED=4720\">The Gothic Retreat<\/a>,which features intricate seashell designs on its walls, and the winner of the category, the beautiful <a href=\"http:\/\/www.readersheds.co.uk\/share.cfm?SHARESHED=4789\">Caribbean Retreat<\/a>.The joy of the series is exploring these sheds and meeting the architects as they explain their circumstances and inspiration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">However, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-2710905\/Shed-Year-finalist-pull-pixie-grotto-hes-using-holiday-let-without-permission.html\">one of these finalists has gotten into a bit of trouble<\/a>. Jonathan Melville Smiths Tolkien-esque shed, a finalist in the &#8216;Unique&#8217; category, has been used as a let out to holidaymakers without the councils permission, and he has\u00a0now been\u00a0forced to apply for <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/planning-permission\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/planning_permission;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.01zn89;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Planning_permission\" >planning permission<\/a> or the shed will be torn down.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Still, even with that in mind, Shed of the Year is\u00a0still worth\u00a0following and watching for the endless amount of imagination on display where else are you going to see a shed with eyes and a mouth <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"House\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/house\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/house;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.03jm5;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/House\" >housing<\/a> graffiti art?
