It sounds like the sort of place you&#8217;d see in <i>Alice in Wonderland<\/i><\/span> or a picture book about fairies, certainly not the type of place you&#8217;d see in reality. Certainly not the type of house one could see themselves living in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">Yet, in Perinton, New York, there lies the famous Mushroom House, originally the <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/property\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/property;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.05wrt;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Property\" >property<\/a> of lawyer Mike Gagnier and Theresa Sherrod. They commissioned architect James Johnson to build the house in 1970, with Antell saying that he had &#8220;the imagination and creative skill to give us a house that is far beyond our imagination!&#8221; The house was designated as a Town of Perinton Landmark in 1989 and has been named one of the 100 best places to live in the USA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">The house looks like it escaped from an episode of <i>The Jetsons<\/i><\/span>, made up of five pods on huge supports measuring up to 20 feet tall. Two pods hold <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Bedroom\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/bedroom\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/bedroom;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.02_58j;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Bedroom\" >bedrooms<\/a>, one holds a <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/kitchen\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/kitchen;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.0d4wf;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Kitchen\" >kitchen<\/a>, one holds a <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/living-room\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/living_room;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.03f6tq;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Living_room\" >living room<\/a> and the final pod is an open deck relaxation area, designed to take advantage of the beautiful natural surroundings. The house also has a rather unique decorating style to it, with one room boasting a gigantic plaster tree, and the pore-like lights create a very psychedelic style to it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">And would you believe this surreal <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Housing estate\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/housing-estate\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/housing_estate;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.01rtvp;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Housing_estate\" >home<\/a> is for sale? Certainly it&#8217;s a good choice for nature lovers, given its forest location and its proximity to a waterfall, and for those looking for something different, it does have its unique architectural style that is sure to impress visitors. It may be a novelty that&#8217;ll wear off, but it does have other <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Amenity\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/amenity\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/amenity;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.0f3yyn;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Amenity\" >amenities<\/a> as well, like a spa and a significantly-sized kitchen.
