When someone sees a period piece with an elegant party, they may wish to become part of that world. That&#8217;s the reason why we are drawn to places where movies are filmed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alnwickcastle.com\/explore\/film-and-tv\">Alnwick Castle<\/a>, for example &#8211; and why we are drawn to places similar to those in films. The Victorian era as a whole was hardly idyllic &#8211; it did have Jack the Ripper and child labour after all &#8211; but when one steps into a <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Victorian houses\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/victorian-house\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/victorian_house;http:\/\/yago-knowledge.org\/resource\/Victorian_house;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.079n3_;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Victorian_house\" >Victorian house<\/a>, they can enjoy only the refined, sophisticated elements of the era, while also enjoying their modern technological comforts. It&#8217;s similar to why people with more morbid tastes enjoy places like The London Dungeon; it simulates the darker moments of history, only without the actual danger. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">Victorian architecture carries an air of prestige and importance to it as well. No-one would dare change how the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liv.ac.uk\/library\/sca\/colldescs\/univarchives\/univictoria.html\">Victoria Building in the University of Liverpool<\/a> looks, nor would they change how the <a href=\"https:\/\/courttribunalfinder.service.gov.uk\/courts\/birmingham-magistrates-court\">Birmingham Magistrates Court<\/a> looks. Both courtrooms and universities are meant to be serious places of intellectual discussion, so it is good that they evoke the era of the likes of Charles Dickens and Benjamin Disraeli. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishmuseum.org\/\">The British Museum<\/a> utilises a Greek Revival style for its exterior; Ancient Greece had great philosophers, so this museum is something worthy of them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/commons\/3\/3a\/British_Museum_from_NE_2.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"450\" align=\"none\" \/><span size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: medium;\"><br
