Him, his parents and grandparents all squeeze into their little wooden house near a great town with little to eat. Roald Dahl tells the readers that the Bucket family house \u2018wasn&#8217;t nearly large enough for so many people, and life was extremely uncomfortable for them all.\u2019 However because there are \u2018far too poor\u2019 \u2018there wasn&#8217;t any question of them being able to buy a better house \u2013 or even one more bed to sleep in\u2019 so have to deal with six people living in a two bedroom house with only one bed. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 516px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/i.guim.co.uk\/img\/static\/Guardian\/books\/gallery\/2008\/nov\/12\/booksforchildrenandteenagers-prince-charles\/p104Charlie-640.jpg?w=700&amp;q=85&amp;auto=format&amp;sharp=10&amp;s=1e69553e08f08d6102bb25c1bf60ba2e\" alt=\"\" width=\"506\" height=\"313\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image source: http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/books\/gallery\/2008\/nov\/12\/books-quentin-blake-michael-morpurgo<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Matilda<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Matilda features a few <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Housing estate\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/housing-estate\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/housing_estate;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.01rtvp;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Housing_estate\" >homes<\/a> including her own family house, where she is mostly stuck in her little <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"bedrooms\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/bedroom\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/bedroom;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.02_58j;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Bedroom\" >bedroom<\/a> which \u2018became her reading-<a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/room\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/room;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.06ht1;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Room\" >room<\/a>\u2019 as she does not fit in with her own family. From reading books \u2018she travelled all over the world while sitting in her little room in an English village.\u2019 Other homes include Miss Honey\u2019s <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"cottages\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/cottage\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/cottage;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.03nxtz;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Cottage\" >cottage<\/a> a lovely home with a nice garden, being much more homely and likeable to Matilda, where the two of them together make a house a home. \u2018An enormous oak tree stood overshadowing the cottage. Its massive spreading branches seemed to be enfolding and embracing the tiny <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/building\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/building;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.0cgh4;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Building\" >building<\/a>, and perhaps hiding it as well from the rest of the world.\u2019 This little but beautiful home provides Miss Honey with some freedom away from the evil Trunchbull. He is left with nothing \u2018alone\u2019 and has to live with his two Aunties, Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker. In their home he is treated like a servant and is never able to leave the confines of their house and garden. From the top of the hill that the house was perched on, James could see woods, fields, and sometimes his former house. There was little for James to do in the house or garden, and the only thing that remained on Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker&#8217;s unpleasant <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/property\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/property;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.05wrt;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Property\" >property<\/a> was an ancient peach tree that never grew peaches. However, one day they notice that a peach has begun to grow and it grows as big as a house. Eventually it end up on the top of the Empire State Building, and many children wish to eat it and James believing the happiness of children being \u2018a marvellous thing\u2019 allows them to eat it. \u00a0The middle brown stone is the only remains of the stone, and is set up as a monument in New York City, but it is not only a monument but a famous house which James lives in. The village features many memorable aspects that feature in his novels such as Sophie\u2019s &#8216;norphanage&#8217; in The BFG or the library visited by Matilda while her mum went off to Aylesbury to play bingo. The Gipsy House garden, includes a magic Dahl essence to it where his best ideas came from, including a magical birdhouse with \u2018dream catchers\u2019 &#8211; jars that giants catch dreams in (from The BFG).
