Each time period in London\u2019s history has contributed unique and iconic structures to the city\u2019s skyline, with no one style or time period overwhelmingly dominating the urban landscape. It is for exactly this reason that London\u2019s architecture is so distinctive and intriguing.<\/p>\n<p>London is a city of architectural contrasts, with modern and classical buildings nestled side by side. The English Baroque style masterpiece of St Paul\u2019s presents a dramatic juxtaposition to the modern, clean and sleek lines of the city skyscrapers just moments away.<\/p>\n<p>Not all of London\u2019s architecture has been a universal hit\u2026 with many buildings dividing opinion more than marmite! The brutish and imposing Barbican is possibly London\u2019s finest example of our love-hate relationship with the capital\u2019s <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"modern\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/modern-architecture\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/modern_architecture;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.01tv5c;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Modern_architecture\" >modern architecture<\/a>. But unfortunately you can\u2019t vote for your <em>least<\/em> favourite building on the new Architects of London website.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What is Architects of London?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>As we mentioned earlier, architecture firm <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gregoryphillips.com\">Gregory Phillips Architects<\/a> have created a new digital platform dedicated to celebrating the capital\u2019s most-loved architecture. The website uses an open data approach and allows anyone and everyone to either rate buildings already <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Listed building\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/listed-building\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/listed_building;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.01cq1t;http:\/\/yago-knowledge.org\/resource\/Listed_building;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Listed_building\" >listed<\/a> on the site, or nominate their own favourite buildings which they feel are deserving of some recognition and adoration.<\/p>\n<p>As well as giving you a little blurb about the building or structure itself, the site also shows the architect who designed the building, allowing you to connect some of your favourite buildings with the architects that dreamt them up.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>How Do I Nominate a Building?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Nominating your favourite piece of London architecture is incredibly easy. Simply go to the Architects of London website and click on \u201cNominate Your Favourite Building\u201d in the top right corner of the screen.
