font-size: 10pt;\">According to Rightmove Overseas, August 2010 has proved to be an active month in the overseas property <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Market (economics)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/market-economics\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/market_economics;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Market_(economics)\" >market<\/a> with a 12 per cent jump in activity amongst potential purchasers.\u00a0A strong pound and some good <a href=\"http:\/\/www.homesgofast.com\">property bargains <\/a>are the main reasons for an increase in interest in overseas property.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt;\">And, it is Portugal which leads the charge amongst traditional overseas destinations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt;\">Overseas property buying activity up<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt;\">Rightmove\u2019s research showed that 61 per cent of their overseas locations showed increases in interest from potential purchasers.\u00a0Portugal showed the biggest increase with a 23 per cent rise in <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Title search\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/title-search\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/title_search;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.093ycv;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Title_search\" >searches<\/a> from prospective purchasers, followed by the USA and Poland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt;\">Robin Wilson, Head of Overseas at Rightmove said, \u201cAs the summer holidays draw to a close it seems Portugal and the United States have been the biggest winners, taking eight out of the 10 Top Climber places in our chart.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt;\">\u201cThe surge in interest for\u00a0Portugal has pushed it up into fourth place, back in front of its arch rival Italy for the first time since May.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt;\">\u00a0\u201cKey regions driving the change were Costa Verde and the Western Algarve, both up 45 per cent with the Silver Coast also putting in a 25 per cent uplift in searches.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;
