Most of these towns have been in <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/london\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/london;http:\/\/sws.geonames.org\/2643743\/;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.04jpl;http:\/\/yago-knowledge.org\/resource\/London;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/London\" >London<\/a> and the South East and have good commuter links to central London. Overall, just three towns in England and Wales actually saw no increase in sales over the period.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; color: black; font-size: 10pt;\">Towns with the lowest change in property sales<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<div><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; color: black; font-size: 10pt;\">The research from Halifax found that only Blackpool recorded less house sales in the first half of 2010 than the corresponding period in 2009.\u00a0There was no change in sales in either Grimsby or Sunderland and sales rose by just 4 per cent in Newcastle upon Tyne.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; color: black; font-size: 10pt;\">There was a clear north-south divide in the figures with sixteen of the twenty towns reporting the highest change in <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Housing estate\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/housing-estate\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/housing_estate;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.01rtvp;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Housing_estate\" >homes<\/a> sold being located in London and the South East.\u00a0Seven of the locations reporting the lowest increase in sales were in the Midlands or the North.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Where are the UK\u2019s property hotspots?
