the <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Building\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/building\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/building;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.0cgh4;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Building\" >buildings<\/a> were typically boxy and bland, and certainly lacking in the elegance and detail that <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Home\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/home\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/home;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.01l0mw;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Home\" >homes<\/a> in the Victorian and Edwardian era had- which is why it baffles me that this standard 1960&#8217;s <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"terraced\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/terraced-house\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/terraced_house;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.02j9yk;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Terraced_house\" >terrace house<\/a> is on the <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Market (economics)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/market-economics\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/market_economics;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Market_(economics)\" >market<\/a> for nearly \u00a31M (although it does have some fancy decor).\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It isn&#8217;t your archetypal beautiful home from the outside, but the interiors of this 1960s terrace house in <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/london\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/london;http:\/\/sws.geonames.org\/2643743\/;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.04jpl;http:\/\/yago-knowledge.org\/resource\/London;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/London\" >London<\/a> have helped it to become shortlisted for two architectural awards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The unusual <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/property\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/property;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.05wrt;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Property\" >property<\/a> &#8211; named &#8216;The Clock House&#8217; after a clock tile on the front of the <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"houses\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/house\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/house;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.03jm5;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/House\" >house<\/a> &#8211; has been\u00a0been transformed into a modern home with a price tag of almost \u00a31million.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Features include a steel rod <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"step\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseshop.com\/property-blog\/stairs\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0502\/entity\/stairs;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.01lynh;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Stairs\" >staircase<\/a>, a pink radiator, a cooper letterbox and nylon door handles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The Clock House is on a north London street in Islington &#8211; But, when modern architecture is done well, it can be extraordinary, which is certainly the case with this Harpenden home. Designed by renowned architect,\u00a0J\u00f8rn Utzon, the home takes the environment into account and looks insanely stunning.
