Situated between two farms, Pentre Bach enjoys a delightful seaside location on the edge of this pretty village in southern Snowdonia. Llwyngwril village benefits from a thriving local pub and restaurant, village shop and railway station with links north to Pwylleli and south to Shrewsbury and beyond or Aberystwyth. It is just a few miles from the stunning Mawddach Estuary and the bustling seaside resorts of Barmouth, Tywyn and Aberdyfi, yet is still quiet and unspoiled. The village has become famous as ?The Knitted Village? as during the summer months the village becomes festooned with knitted items (know as Yarn Bombing) which serves to attract many visitors in the Spring and Summer.
Pentre Bach?s main house was rebuilt in 1868 and new front and rear porches were added in the late 1970s. Although it has been extensively modernised, it retains most of its original features such as the very impressive staircase with its handrail and spindles, the original doors, window shutters in the main rooms and all the original fireplaces. The entrance hallways and the main kitchen have beautiful Welsh slate floors. The present owners have installed furniture in character with the property and it has been well decorated with new carpets in most rooms. The main house kitchen has a dual fuel range cooker installed in the original inglenook stone fireplace whilst the rest of the kitchen retains the charm of a ?farmhouse kitchen?. There are six large bedrooms which offer excellent accommodation to large groups or a large family. Three of the bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms and there are two other bathrooms one on the first floor and one on the second floor. There is also a shower room and toilet on the ground floor. The spectacular view towards the sea is uninterrupted owing to the installation of a ?haha? which was constructed to prevent animals from entering the garden area. Recently a number of new windows have been installed in the property.
Y Popty cottage is attached to the main house and can be accessed via two adjoining doors at ground and first floor levels. Many groups book both properties which therefore means that there are nine bedrooms under one roof. Y Popty has a stone inglenook fireplace with an open fire. It has two double bedrooms and one bedroom with two bunk beds. Although the property has a new modern kitchen it retains the feeling of a traditional country cottage. New double glazed windows units have been installed throughout the property.
Y Llaethdy cottage is extremely popular with couples and older people who enjoy the spectacular views from the conservatory across the garden towards the sea. It has a small single bedroom downstairs with a double bedsitting room upstairs. With a ground floor bedroom and bathroom, this cottage is ideal for anyone with accessibility requirements.
Pen Y Lon (End of the Lane) cottage is the detached property currently occupied by the present owners. This property was built in the 1970s and since then it has been extensively modernised with a new kitchen and new bathrooms on the ground and first floors. The property benefits from cavity wall insulation and has new radiators and new internal doors throughout. Recently a new oil tank and a new condensing oil boiler have been installed and a small, but highly efficient log burner has been installed in the lounge. There is a conservatory which has spectacular views across the fields towards the sea. The first floor bathroom has a shower which surely gives one of the best views in Wales over Cardigan Bay to the Lleyn Peninsular and Bardsey Island !.
The business has been improved greatly by the present owners over the last 10 years by the installation of a modern fire alarm system, new heating and hot water systems, a photovoltaic electricity generating system, new solar water heating system, window replacements and refurbishment, electricity upgrade and modernisation, new vision aerial system, new wifi system, new kitchens, new bathrooms and refurbished shower rooms. The properties are fully equipped with all white goods, visions, cutlery and crockery and they are fully furnished.
This ?little village? offers very flexible accommodation which means that each unit can be let separa or can be let altogether to large groups. Many such groups have booked all 3 units in order to celebrate significant birthdays, reunions or anniversaries.
The business is fortunate enough to experience many repeat bookings and the satisfaction of guests can be seen from the many complimentary Trip Advisor reviews. The property is offered for sale as a going concern with the benefit of a large number of bookings throughout the year which generate a good income.
Pentre Bach Holiday Cottages offer considerable potential to a couple or family looking for a wonderful place to live, combined with a good income. There is considerable scope for future development subject to gaining all necessary consents.
