Situated between two farms, Pentre Bach enjoys a delightful seaside location on the edge of this pretty village in southern Snowdonia. Llwyngwril village benefits from a thriving local pub and restaurant, village shop and railway station with links north to Pwylleli and south to Shrewsbury and beyond or Aberystwyth. It is just a few miles from the stunning Mawddach Estuary and the bustling seaside resorts of Barmouth, Tywyn and Aberdyfi, yet is still quiet and unspoiled. The village has become famous as ?The Knitted Village? as during the summer months the village becomes festooned with knitted items (know as Yarn Bombing) which serves to attract many visitors in the Spring and Summer.
Pentre Bach?s main house was rebuilt in 1868 and new front and rear porches were added in the late 1970s. Although it has been extensively modernised, it retains most of its original features such as the very impressive staircase with its handrail and spindles, the original doors, window shutters in the main rooms and all the original fireplaces. The entrance hallways and the main kitchen have beautiful Welsh slate floors. The present owners have installed furniture in character with the property and it has been well decorated with new carpets in most rooms. The main house kitchen has a dual fuel range cooker installed in the original inglenook stone fireplace whilst the rest of the kitchen retains the charm of a ?farmhouse kitchen?. It has two double bedrooms and one bedroom with two bunk beds. Although the property has a new modern kitchen it retains the feeling of a traditional country cottage. Y Llaethdy cottage is extremely popular with couples and older people who enjoy the spectacular views from the conservatory across the garden towards the sea.
