Pests require no extra or special conditions to attach and affect any building. Any small opening is enough to allow a pest infestation in a house, office or garden. Pests are capable of causing severe damage and problems to people, their belongings and their properties. Therefore, it is vital to keep any building or property of the individual pest free.

The best way to keep oneself and one’s surroundings and environments pest-free is to keep them clean and tidy to avoid any pest infestation. There are several other pest prevention tools, traps, techniques, and methods. But sometimes, all of these preventive measures may not be enough, and pests may end up infesting the building.

It is crucial to get rid of pests as soon as possible in such a situation. There are numerous different ways, methods and options that would allow one to control and get rid of pests. But the primary two methods are biological pest control and chemical pest control methods.

People generally prefer to opt for biological pest control methods instead of chemical ones in the present scenario. Here is an explanation of why.

Chemical pest control has been in use for an extended period. It involves using chemical gas, insecticides, pesticides, rodenticides etc., to get rid of all those unwanted guests in anyone’s house. It depends on the use of toxic and poisonous substances to eliminate and prevent the spread of pests in any location. Chemical pesticides can be divided into the following categories –

● Fungicides for fungi.

● Herbicides for weeds.

● Insecticides for harmful insects.

● Acaricides for mites.

● Nematicides for nematodes.

But while chemical pest control methods are varied in numbers and services, their disadvantages outnumber their advantages. Here are some of the significant reasons why chemical pest control methods should be avoided –

● They are toxic – As mentioned above, chemical pesticides and control methods employ highly poisonous and toxic substances to get rid of pests. But these toxins are harmful to the problems and humans, animals, and plants as well. Nonselective chemical pesticides are the most dangerous ones as they even eliminate advantageous pests and creatures.

● They can be resisted – All chemicals can only affect something for a specific time. This is true for checking pesticides as well. After the same pesticide has been used continuously, pests will develop resistance and immunity towards that pesticide and anything weaker than it.

● They leave harmful residues – Chemicals mostly leave their traces in one way or another. Chemical pesticides are also the same. They leave their residues in the area in which they were used. These chemicals can then negatively affect the food, plants, and soil of that particular area. They can even contaminate the groundwater of the land, which would indirectly harm the people only.

While not all chemical pesticides are harmful, most of them certainly are. While looking for pesticides, it is better to go for pest control experts who ensure that their pesticides don’t damage the environment.
