When looking for a house to live in, one question you’ll probably find yourself asking is, What can this house offer that others can’t? Proximity to where you work is a very important factor in house purchasing, but does the house have a spacey kitchen? A good number of bedroom sand bathrooms? A beautiful garden? A water-slide?

Yes, how could you refuse a penthouse with a water-slide outside, leading from a dance floor to a gigantic, private pool? Proximity to work be damned, you would likely take the property even if it were a million miles from your office. That is, if you had approximately £240 million in your housing budget.

Monaco is bringing forth Tour Odeon, its first new skyscraper to be built since the 1980s, which will have a stunning five-floor penthouse atop it, complete with a pool and a slide. The penthouse also offers other amenities, such as a health centre, a kitchen on each floor, a private chauffeur, a caterer and a stunning view of Monaco and the Mediterranean sea through floor-to-ceiling glass walls. The penthouse is estimated to measure around 35,500 square feet.

Former ruler of Monaco Prince Rainier III is said to have opposed skyscrapers in Monaco, but his son and current ruler, Prince Albert II,approves of this project.

Monaco is a tax haven, having no income tax for its residents, so the state has been having an interest in luxury housing to accommodate wealthy people who wish to escape high taxes. It has been a popular location for football players, pop stars and Formula One drivers. Other factors leading to Monaco’s popularity include the view it offers, its casinos, and its small size making for convenient travelling. Thus, demand for housing is high.Tour Odeon will offer seventy apartments as well as the penthouse.

Tour Odeon began construction in November 2009 and is said to be completed somewhere around October 2014.
